FAQs
Will I have to attend Christian groups at Lighthouse?
As a Christian organization, our faith shapes how we care for others—but we do not require church attendance or religious participation. We seek to love others as Christ loves us, by showing grace, support, and dignity to everyone.
What if I can’t pay for my first month at Lighthouse?
If you submit an application to Lighthouse, you can discuss possible scholarship options with us at the time of your interview.
Are there any exceptions to the job requirement?
If you are retired, disabled, or self-employed, you may not have to seek traditional employment. However, you will need to have enough income to cover your program fees. It is the resident’s responsibility to cover their monthly program fees. Additionally Lighthouse requires participants who are retired/disabled to use their time in a constructive way, e.g. through volunteering, attending groups, and community involvement.
How long can I stay at Lighthouse?
There is no maximum time you can live at Lighthouse. Our program takes a minimum of 4 months to complete, but our participants frequently live at Lighthouse after graduation – for months or even years!
Will I my criminal record prevent me from being accepted into the program?
We consider applicants regardless of criminal background, except those on the sex offender registry. Lighthouse is not able to accommodate sex offenders at this time. Other charges may be a disqualification depending on your circumstances. If you have questions about your specific charges, please reach out to us.
